Replacing your transmission fluid and filter according to your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations helps preserve the life of the transmission and helps maintain your vehicle warranty. Whether your vehicle has an automatic or manual transmission, your Jiffy Lube® technician can help you determine which if any is necessary for your vehicle based on your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations. Jiffy Lube offers four Transmission Services.

If changing the transmission fluid is the only service called for, Jiffy Lube® technicians will remove the transmission fill/drain plug, drain the old automatic transmission fluid, reinstall the fill/drain plug and refill the transmission with new automatic transmission fluid.

If changing the transmission filter and fluid is called for, Jiffy Lube® technicians will remove the old transmission filter and replace it with a new transmission filter. In the process they will remove the old gasket material, replace the pan gasket with a new gasket and refill the transmission with new automatic transmission fluid.

In this service, Jiffy Lube® technicians will replace your automatic transmission filter and fluid (see above) plus any other fluids in the transmission system, including the torque converter and transmission cooler.

First, Jiffy Lube® Technicians evacuate the old manual transmission fluid. Once the old fluid is removed, Jiffy Lube refills the manual transmission with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended type and quantity of new fluid.
