MANUAL TRANSMISSION SERVICE

A Jiffy Lube® manual transmission service at the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended interval can help prevent premature wear, damage to the transmission and costly repairs.

Manual Transmission Services

A manual transmission gives you direct control of engine RPMs, which means power when you want it and, often, better fuel economy. A Jiffy Lube® manual transmission service ensures that your transmission has the proper amount of new transmission fluid meeting vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations, giving your vehicle the durability, performance and fuel economy you desire.

Let Us Break it Down for You

Heat, pressure and friction can slowly break down manual transmission fluid. In addition, very small particles of metal can wear or chip off the gears and mix with the fluid. Plus, fluids can also become contaminated with water due to condensation within the transmission — we all know how well oil and water get along. Replacing transmission fluids according to your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations helps extend the life of your transmission, improve your transmission’s performance, keep it shifting smoothly, reduce wear on gears, and minimize your risk of transmission failure and costly repairs. Manufacturers may recommend replacement at regular intervals of time (years) or mileage. Most warranties require maintenance in accordance with the recommended schedule, so having the job done on schedule will help maintain your warranty. Manual Transmission Service:

First, Jiffy Lube® Technicians evacuate the old manual transmission fluid. In some transmissions this is done by simply draining the old fluid. Others require pumping it out. Your Jiffy Lube technician has the right equipment for both types of transmissions. Once the old fluid is removed, Jiffy Lube refills the manual transmission with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended type and quantity of new fluid.
